Frequently Asked Questions
Have you got a question? Take a look through our FAQ below.
If the answer to your question isn't listed below, please get in touch.
-
Where are you based? We are based in Liverpool, in the North West of England. Whilst many of our clients are based in the North West, we can position the aircraft to wherever you are (subject to additional cost). Just get in touch to find out more!
-
What happens if the aircraft becomes unavailable after I have booked a trip?It is very rare that this happens, as the Pilatus PC12 PRO is a masterpiece of engineering, with incredible reliability. In the event that the aircraft becomes unavailable (e.g. due to unscheduled maintenance), we will do everything we can to source an alternative aircraft. We have access to other PC12 aircraft, which we can often use at short notice, and at no extra cost to you. In the extremely rare event that we cannot source an aircraft, we will offer you an alternative - either another aircraft option via one of our partners (which may be at additional cost to you), or we can reschedule your trip.
-
Can I use hours without a membership?Unfortunately not. The membership scheme ensures that our members have exclusive access to the aircraft. Don't forget that your membership not only gives you access to the club, but also gives you lots of extra benefits! You can find out more about these on the Membership page.
-
Can I bring pets on the aircraft?Certainly! We all love pets, and it's a great way to take your furry companions with you wherever you go. We allow pets in the cabin (or in the baggage area, if you prefer). Both areas are kept at a comfortable temperature and pressure - the same as the cabin of a commercial airliner. After every flight, our cabin is thoroughly cleaned. To allow this cleaning to take place, there is a small surcharge to carry pets onboard. Please see our Membership page for more details. Please note that if your pets cause damage to the aircraft (e.g. staining, claw marks, etc), then you will be billed the cost of repairing this.
-
Do you offer "one-off" trips?Yes, but not directly. As Primo Jet does not hold an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), we cannot sell one off trips/charters. We can however provide this by our partner, Ravenair. If you'd like a quote for a one-off trip, please contact Ravenair and mention that you have been referred by Primo Jet - their amazing team will sort the rest!

The aircraft has a propeller. How is it safe? The Pilatus PC12 PRO is one of the safest aircraft in the sky! Whilst it is powered by a propeller, there is a jet engine that drives it - just in the same way as on a commercial airliner. The PC12 features a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 engine, which is used in many other aircraft. Data from 2016 suggests that the in-flight shutdown rate (engine failure) is 1 in every 651,000 flight hours - if you were to fly 200 hours per year on our aircraft, you'd have to fly for 3,255 years before experiencing an engine failure! Even if the engine does fail, the aircraft is capable of gliding for a long distance and landing in small fields. With over 2,000 PC12 aircraft in service (as of May 2023), the PC12 is popular for a reason. With maintenance carried out by the manufacturer, safety is our number one priority.

The aircraft can be flown by only one pilot. What happens if they were to have a medical episode? The PC12 PRO is unique compared to most other business jets as it features the new "Emergency Autoland" button. This button is accessible to passengers in the event of the pilot becoming incapacitated, and pressing it will make the aircraft: Alert Air Traffic Control to the issue, allowing them to organise help. Avoid other aircraft in the vicinity. Calculate the nearest suitable airport that the aircraft can land at. Route in a safe way to the airport (even if you are in the middle of a mountain range!). Land at the airport. Bring the aircraft to a complete stop. You no longer have to worry about a single pilot being an issue - the aircraft can do the work itself!
-
Where can the aircraft land? Can it land at popular ski destinations like Courchevel?Almost anywhere! The aircraft can takeoff and land in around 700m of grass, and has the performance to fly into almost any mountainous airport. Places like Courchevel are a breeze for the PC12 PRO, but many aircraft simply cannot land there. Note: if you require the flight to be performed as an AOC flight, there are limitations on where the aircraft can land due to regulations. If the flight is performed as an NCO flight, there are no limitations except the aircraft's own performance.
